CIA complained US was blindsided by Saudi outreach to Syria and Iran: Report
2023-04-09
And whose fault is that, pray tell? Big boys don’t whine.
[Shafaq News] CIA director Bill Burns told Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
’s Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman that the US feels "blindsided" by Riyadh’s moves to restore ties with Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
and Syria as part of the kingdom's increasingly independent foreign policy streak.

#15  Blindsided by the Taliban speed with which they took Kabul.

Blindsided by ___________________ (fill in the blank).

Time for the DNI to be subordinated to a new and improved intelligence department. That'll fix everything.

#14  Did you see this one coming Bill??

#13  Not sure who they are complaining about with regard to being blindsided. We depend on the intelligence community to keep us from being blindsided. This is like the baker complaining about the buns being burned.

#12  Does he mean to say that the Saudis have made us a Pariah State?

#11  Thing about backlash is...

My winch cable allegory fits.
Haul them out of their log filled mudpit and with the last tug, the shackle shatters and the cable end comes back thru the windshield.

#10  Thing about backlash is, the further back it has to lash, the more you'd better stand back.

#9  Apply the Strong Horse - Weak Horse test and outcomes are obvious. All the Ivy-League pettyfoggery, sophisticated language about nuance and effeminate fashion sense notwithstanding, the real world's leaders see who's who and what's what. Does it look like America will cast off this suicidal malaise induced by the choke-hold our elites have on basic institutions and th media? If I'm on the outside looking in, not so much!

#8  During the meeting, he expressed Washington’s frustration at being left out of regional developments

When you bring nothing but money to a region that has money there is little value in being invited.

#7  So the head of Central Intelligence is publicly proclaiming we are 'blindsided' by international movements.

Is there anybody, and I do mean anybody who knows how to play this game?

#6  Which should go first? CIA or FBI? Granted they both should be defunded and broken up, which first?

#5  ^ Yep!#3 that is pretty much what it boils down to....

That, plus, the US has a crappy history of success with extended "conflicts" in overseas countries.

But it has made the military industrial complex & its DC Swampers a great personal ROI.

#4  Well, ole Jake Sullivan can add another disaster to his Yale boy resume...
-VP Biden's NSA advisor when Biden lost Iraq to ISIS
-lost Iraq to the Iranians
-failed Iran nuclear negotiations
-failed Clinton campaign
-collapse of Afghanistan
-Ukraine disaster
-currently making his administration look like fools in the middle east

#2  Looking at it on the geopolitical picture. Likely many lukewarm allies right now, are wondering if the USA will even be a 4th rate world power on 5 years? The loyalty $$$$$ and/or military support that is funneled out to various leaders is backed by, for all means, a Bankrupt nation.
