, at least two Afghan citizens have been killed and seven others injured as a result of gunfire by Ottoman Turkish border guards on a group of refugees at the border between Turkey and Iran.

Safiullah, one of the refugees, told Hasht-e-Subh on Wednesday that those killed and injured were residents of Jowzjan and Faryab provinces, who were shot by Ottoman Turkish border guards while attempting to cross the border.

The incident reportedly occurred last week, and it is not clear why the border guards opened fire.
