More than 15 Leopard 2 tanks promised by the German government have arrived in Ukraine. This was reported on March 27 by the German edition of Der Spiegel, citing its own sources.
According to them, the equipment promised by the German authorities was handed over two months after the relevant decision was made. The last batch left Germany at the end of last week, March 20-26.
It is noted that 40 combat vehicles (IFVs) also arrived in the combat zone. According to the publisher, the German government keeps the exact route of the equipment supply secret for security reasons.
Initially, the German authorities promised to supply the Kyiv regime with 14 Leopard 2A6 tanks. However, it was not possible to complete the battalion, and Berlin decided to send four more pieces of equipment to Ukraine.
Last week, Slovak Defense Minister Yaroslav Nagy announced that the first four of the 13 MiG-29 fighters promised had been handed over to Kiev, REGNUM reported .
