2023-03-24 |
[KREM] A bill banning assault weapons in Washington state is making significant headway in the legislature. House Bill 1240 passed in the House two weeks ago and will go before a Senate committee Thursday. This is the first time a proposal like this has passed a chamber of the Washington Legislature. House Bill 1240 would prohibit the manufacture, importation, distribution, sale or offer for sale of any assault weapon in the state. It was brought forward at the request of Gov. #2 Remember THE STATE defines what a ASSUALT WEAPON is. When was the last time a toe in the stop with just THE STATES toe? Btw: When was the last time any weapon jumped up and decided to ASSUALTED someone? |

#1 For anyone who wants t follow it https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?BillNumber=1240&Year=2023 The consensus is it will pass the senate and then a 30 day period before implementation unless Inslee uses emergency powers to enact it immediately. There is a thought he will want to PR it so he might wait a week or so before doing that. Most people agree it will all be overturned but by the time it does it will have wrecked the industry in WA. I suspect bullets will be next. |
