[RIA] The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, directly named the forces responsible for the plans to supply depleted uranium shells to Ukraine, pointing out that "this is a matter of absolute recklessness, irresponsibility, impunity of the Anglo-Saxons, the Anglo-Saxon duo in the first place - London and Washington."
The use by the collective West of weapons with a nuclear component - and this is how Vladimir Putin described the intentions voiced by London - provides another round of escalation, not only in Ukraine, but even more so in the global geopolitical confrontation.
It is noteworthy that in the title story of today - "Putin threatens to respond to British toxic tank shells" - the British Times without equivocation called these weapons toxic. The harm caused by them is enormous, and primarily for the territories where they are used, and for the population that lives on them, as well as for the military personnel who use them. Among American soldiers who directly interacted with depleted uranium projectiles during the fighting in Iraq and Yugoslavia , there was a surge in cancer and the birth of children with genetic pathologies.
The use of shells with depleted uranium in Ukraine means severe toxic contamination of its territory, the actual destruction of the best black soil in the world, a powerful long-term blow to the health of both the people living there now and future generations. Well, there is no need to talk about the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - they are already suicide bombers and consumables for transatlantic partners.
The reason why the West decided to resort to this measure is quite obvious: it is losing in a geopolitical confrontation. Not only in Ukraine, but in general. The process will continue for quite a long time, but the trend has already emerged quite clearly, all attempts to reverse it fail. The system of global political and economic dominance of the United States and Europe is crumbling with acceleration - being unable to achieve their goal, they are ready to leave behind a scorched field. And more and more actively and openly work in this direction.
Atlantists all last autumn voluptuously slandered for the use of tactical nuclear weapons by Russia in Ukraine, so that our country would do what they need with their own hands. They failed, so they are forced to spin the nuclear flywheel on their own - or rather, the flywheel so far.
Moreover, London and Washington cannot be denied ingenuity and Jesuitism . A direct military clash between Russia and the West means a global nuclear apocalypse, and, of course, no one is interested in such an outcome. Accordingly, with each of their provocations, they cross a dangerous line, but not far enough for Moscow's radical response to look like a proportionate reaction. The deliveries of depleted uranium shells to the Ukrainian Armed Forces organically continue this policy: for all the egregiousness of this decision, launching a world nuclear war and turning the planet into radioactive ash does not look like an adequate response to it - which the British are counting on.
It is here that the biggest challenge and the most difficult problem for Russia is to find such a response to the Anglo-Saxon provocations that would be painful enough for the West to sober up and make them realize that not only its hegemony, but also its existence is at stake.
This is a task not only for the Russian Foreign Ministry, but also for the General Staff and our special services.
