  • It comes amid growing tensions in the Taiwan strait and between China and US

#11  Nice EMP burst will solve the problem. Wonder if the Taiwanese kept their old Nike Hercs?

#10  If they are airworthy, sell them and buy more balloons.

#9  You wouldn't have to jam them for very long to know which was which.

#8  #6 makes very good sense. Cost effective use of semi-worthless air-frames and it would pinpoint the ADA landscape in the RoC perfectly.

#7  Wild Weasels.

Do they even have the range?

#6  ...It makes sense if they plan to use them to soak up the Taiwanese air defenses in the opening hour of an invasion. Use these as the opening wave, and the RoCAF isn't going to be able to determine who's a drone and who ain't - they'll have to shoot them all down, and when they turn for home...in go the real strikers. The RoCAF is on the ground rearming/refueling or out of ammo.

If they plan on turning them loose against the USN...well, bluntly, we have targets with better performance.

#5  What will these attritables be used against given their range limitations?

Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Austin, Houston, New York ... List your favorites for blue city targeting.

#4  We are doing attritables, but going with purpose built.

#3  Seen an aerial picture of AMARC lately? We have stuff we could do that with. Does it necessarily make sense to do it is the question. What will these attritables be used against given their range limitations?

#2  The J-7s were one way targets even during in active service.

#1  We could have done something similar ourselves but we used ours for target drones instead.
