The media's road to ruin its own credibility in war on Trump |
2023-02-05 |
This overt embrace of partisanship is a major factor in two developments roiling the nation. The first is a hardening of polarization that deeply divides voters and leaves government unable to agree on solutions to even basic problems. The second is that mistrust of the media is proving contagious, with Americans losing faith in most institutions, including those in the private sector as well as government. Even the military, which long stood above the political fray, suffers from declining public trust, adding to fears that America is headed toward a second civil war and is more vulnerable to foreign adversaries. |

#1 Is it still Freedom of the Press and Free Speech when only a handful of Elite people control what is printed and said? I have read, and need to verify, that less than 8 companies practically control all news and information 90% of us see each day. Some examples: The USA has about 302.35 million social media users as of 2023. That means 88.27% of the total 342.5 M US population get its info from social media actively. Gannett's media properties alone now owns a vast majority of the top 100 newspapers (by circulation) in the United States |
