Trump Vows He Would Develop US Domestic 'Missile Shield' if Reelected in 2024
2023-01-29
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] Former US President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
said on Friday that he will develop a new missile defense shield for the United States if reelected president in 2024 in order to address the increasing threat posed by hypersonic missiles.

"There is no greater danger than the deadly menace of nuclear weapons and hypersonic missiles," Trump said in a video statement.

"When I’m commander in chief... I will work with Congress and our great military leaders... to build a state-of-the art, next-generation missile defense shield."

According to the former head of state, the system would be similar to the Israeli occupation’s Iron Dome system amid concerns from the United States about hypersonic missiles, particularly ones armed with nuclear warheads.

Republican US Senator John Cornyn warned earlier in January that China and Russia were ahead of the United States on hypersonic technology.

Trump stressed that the world had become "vastly more dangerous" since President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity, except maybe for abandoning Afghanistan...
took office, arguing that the nuclear rhetoric had not been employed against the US under his administration and saying that foreign adversaries were now using it due to their lack of disrespect for the incumbent administration and the Biden leadership.

#16  My impression is that our defense budget is not well spent. All in, it is about $1T. A missile defense system could be funded in part from some of that. You could also go full Elon Musk on federal staffing without impacting services. I am not sure what he has planned, but there would be an end result. The money spent by Biden and Mitch these last two years has just been stolen. The only tangible result for us is ridiculous levels of inflation. If Trump is able to build SDI, it will negate the Russian and Chinese nuclear arsenals as well as all the threats of various bad actors. Will he be able to do it? I don’t know. I do know that he won’t sell us out to Klaus Schwab.

#15  Don't get me wrong.... I'd vote for him again.

But I am asking the honest question where would the $$$$$$$$$$ come from. The LSD's have spend the USA in a $34 TRILLION debt and way too much of our technology depends on foreign manufacturers to produce.

#14  He got some stuff done. I liked the embassy move. I liked the fact that he built the wall despite being told no. I liked the replacement of NAFTA and the tariffs on China. We whacked an Iranian after putting up with them for 20 years. I liked that Gorka almost punched out a reporter in the rose garden. He did enough with friends and family undercutting him that I would like to see more.

I think we have now seen what a Hillary presidency would look like.

#13  What Trump could have accomplished if was simply given the chance? He wasn't, so it's hard to even count his time there as "an administration". It wasn't. It was a blip - a pause to whatever was already in motion and continues on today.

#12  I guess I woke up to an alternative 1983 timeline.

#11  They installed a special counsel on him at nearly day one. I would like to see what he could do with some support.

#10  I'll cut him some slack about the Deep State. That's gotta be something you learn about first hand.

If he gets in again he'll be prepared better.

#9  Better is the enemy of good enough. But, given we have abysmally bad right now, yes, more Trump, now with improved judgement in the hiring department (we can hope.)

#8  Re: Trump. Sure, I'd take him back in a heartbeat, but it appears he was naïve to think he could run the presidency like a CEO. I guess he didn't get the memo about the Deep State before his inauguration, but he evidently did get a million bucks from Pfizer to whoop it up on 20 January 2016.

#7  I don’t think a person could carry a significant part for a standard missile so that it could be reassembled stateside. Stingers are portable and dangerous. It’s good that we have left any in Afghanistan or sent any into Ukraine.

#6  It wasn't a 'Bad Idea' when Reagan proposed it and it isn't one now. The electronics to make it work have made tremendous strides since then.

#5  And the president who closed the border and as much as possible did not spend budgeted funds on things he thought ought not be done, and who required each government department to delete at least two regulations for each one they added to the books...

The man is very far from perfect, but he knows how to run an organization.

#4  Yes, and the same president who hired John Bolton.

#3  Wasn't he the president who pushed the vaxxes in record time?

#2  The millions walking across the border could just carry a missile in under the shield. We do not have the political or judicial will to close our border. We got bigger internal problems to tackle.
