  • Children fled to another classroom for safety, where they remained in lockdown

  • Zwerner, 25, had life-threatening injuries but her condition is improving

  • Classes have been canceled for the 550 students at the school until Wednesday

  • Under Virginia law guns need to be secured from children under the age of 14
