[FresnoCounty] ....the following road yards will remain open 24 hours a day. Empty bags are provided free of charge to County residents, homes located in unincorporated areas.
You must bring your own shovel in order to shovel sand into bags yourself.

other counties in California have similar free sand bag programs; another strong atmospheric river event is expected to begin early am 9 January. This is after several similar storms; ground is already saturated. Also, snow levels will rise and be near 7000'for a few hours thus melting snow will add to the valley rain runoff. Above pass levels, especially above 7000', avalanche danger is about as bad as it ever gets as the snow-pack is about double the long term average in the Sierra. |
