#16  Concession: House of Reps Church Committee style investigation of intel agencies. Add DoJ too.

#15  At a certain point I plan to contact my rep to tell him that I am very disappointed that he supported MCCarthy and to let him know that when McCarthy betrays us, I will support his most viable primary challenger.

#14  I was unhappy with McCarthy as speaker but I do love the concession list. There is also one more that wasn't listed. A single member back demand a revote if McCarthy breaks his promise on that list.

#13  Concessions:
Border Security a Priority
72 Hours to Study a Bill
Term limit Vote
Freedom Caucus Members on Committees
End COVID Emergency Funding and Mandates
Stop Increasing The Debt Ceiling

I thank Rep Gaetz for pushing the above for a week.

#12   I'm wondering why a different republican was not nominated for the speaker role?

I don’t think anyone wanted it, they just didn’t want him. When the only offered alternative is a Democrat, that’s pretty blatant.

#11  You won't get your republic back in our lifetimes. Did it ever exist during our lifetimes?

#10  I'm wondering why a different republican was not nominated for the speaker role?

Jim Jordan didn't want it.

McCarthy is not the only choice, 'eh?

#8  I think God made an effort to save McCarthy, a man uniquely unsuited to leadership above a Cub Scout den from this challenge. I believe he is guaranteed to fail in historic fashion. Chamberlain comes to mind. The process may have been like a foundry bringing out gold in him, but I don’t think that is the case. He will not last the two years. America is not going to stand for the status quo. We are mad. Shenanigans by him will increase the anger by a factor of 10. If he does it soon enough every GOP rep will have a MAGA primary opponent.

#7  Remember this when they say there is no uni-party. This is a first cousin to what they did in California with gay marriage. Put it on the ballot. No go, so do it again. Even worse outcome so what's a socialist to do? Why sue without mercy, sir!

Keep running the same game until you can threaten and buy off the opposition without serious consideration of any other option. 'You children can have oatmeal OR mush, and like it.'

It pains me to agree with P2K and Besoeker as I have always enjoyed and respected their views and style. But things are as they are and not always as we would wish them to be.

#6  Sadly, I fear you are right P2K.

#5  lol it's already burnt down. You won't get your republic back in our lifetimes.
