Cops raid hospital room of terminally ill Kansas man, 69, who has just weeks to live to seize THC paste he uses to ease cancer pain - and order him to appear before a court next month
2022-12-26
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Greg Bertz was cited for drug posession on December 16 at Hays Medical Center

  • A hospital staffer reported on the 69-year-old after she had caught him vaping

  • Bertz claims that a doctor told him to choose whichever pain relievers he wants

  • He was hospitalized nearly three weeks ago and was told his cancer is incurable

  • Medical marijauna is legal in 47 states, except for Kansas, Idaho and Nebraska

#5  If I’ve got 6 weeks to live, I would probably rather spend my time someplace else. Their menu is likely on a week or two week rotation of mediocre stuff. Cash out your 401K. Sell your house and have some sepoys haul you to a food court where you can get a decent pastrami sandwich. Screw the dietitians and their calorie counts. Dedicate an entire week to dairy intake.

#4  THC paste is not vaping which uses oil. He prolly was a colossal PITA and wouldn't stop vaping in his room when asked. Oxygen tank around?

#2  Sounds like a waste of resources to me. Then they order a man to court who is unable to move, yeah they have their priorities straight.

#1  As much as I support the LEO's efforts.
Even the best Police Dept.'s have a few Barneys.

Of course now having been arrested and under close supervision. Did the police dept assume responsibility for his Hospitalization & Bill?

Also, did the reporting Healthcare worker who reported the chosen medical pain treatment violate HIPA and leave the Hospital open to Lawsuit?
