Guns have claimed more than 1.1 million lives in last 30 years, and fatalities spiked by 20% in the pandemic, driven by economic chaos, mental health woes and a jump in gun sales, CDC study shows
2022-12-06
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] vs. 6 million from Covid in two years?
”Science!”: 1.1 million over 30 years equals 36,666.7 deaths per year total gun deaths. But according to the article that includes suicides and accidental shootings as well as homicides. Given that accident-prone people have all sorts of accidents, not just with guns, and the truly suicidal will use another method if their preferred method is not available — in Japan they like to jump off mountains and in front of trains instead of shooting themselves — only the homicide category counts.

#7  Over 150 people die every day from overdoses related to synthetic opioids like fentanyl, says CDC.

Funny how the CDC's own statistics on fentanyl don't get the same publicity as their gun stats which would of course include the number of people killed in righteous self defense or law enforcement.

Let's see: 150 x 365 = 54750 deaths per year
so: 54750 x 30 = 1642500 deaths from fentanyl in 30 year if we keep going like we are with an unsecured border and no reprisals against Mexico or China for their roll in smuggling this poison into our country.

Bottom line: 1.6 > 1.1

So, yeah, before you get your panties all in a wad about guns, do something about the fucking border.

#4  Nice the whole story is in the headline: Pandemic management, plus crushing economy equals mental health woes and a jump in gun sales.

But not all of those were factors over the entire 30-years.

#2  So Guns are 15+ TIMES safer than Dr. F. CDC/NHI GRAIN OF FUNCTION Virus weaponization R&D labs.

Since their Wuhan lab leak killed what, 1.1 million and injured or crippled another 80+ million in under 2 years here in the US alone.
