White House DEFENDS deal to drill oil in Venezuela and rejects claims Biden is reducing production on American soil - less than a month after President said 'no more drilling'
2022-11-29
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Over the Thanksgiving holiday the Biden administration quietly granted a license to Chevron to resume oil production in Venezuela

  • The move eased sanctions imposed on the dictatorship in 2019 due to human rights violations

  • 'Our expectation is there won't be a lot of oil coming out of there. And it will have to be shipped to the United States,' spokesman John Kirby said

#5  As I recall, President Chavez then pre-sold something like five to ten years of production to China in return for China funding the running costs, a significant discount over the oil price at the time.

I think what he was funding was his own private lifestyle.

#2  No sane company would want to be involved in the environmental disaster that the Chavez Maduro regime has created in Venezuela. They ran off all the competent employees. Incompetent oil drilling is not something you clean up with a roll of Bounty and jug of dish washing soap. No sense getting caught holding the bag in what will equate to a national superfund when the pendulum of justice scythes down the current clowns.

Now the unasked and answered question:

How Much will Socialist Venezuela get out of the deal, and who in the OIL industry is donating to the LSD's or DC Swamp family pockets?

BTW: Read in Forbes some years ago. "How Venezuela Ruined Its Oil Industry"

Chávez the then Socialist Dictator of Venezuela and close friend to Castro, demanded changes to the Oil Drill agreements made by the international oil companies that would give PDVSA majority control of the projects.

He then proceeded to siphoned off too much Oil $$$ to fund his Socialism regime, failed to re-invest in oil operations and fired those that knew how to drill and operate oil rigs and replaced them with his Socialist Cronies.
