Arizona Gubernatorial Kari Lake will not concede, hires legal team
2022-11-21
[BillingsReport] Kari Lake has worked too hard to give up now. She has assembled a crack legal team and expects to make a case that Hobbs overseeing the election was indeed a conflict of interest and that the machine malfunctions in conservative precincts were an intentional act of voter suppression. Indeed, there were several hours that votes could not be tabulated and there were long lines with people waiting to take their turn at voting.

However, when Lake and Masters asked that the polls remain open so that everyone could vote, they were turned down. Has a Democratic request ever been denied? Of course, not. And for much lesser [problems than those found in Maricopa County.

Masters, who conceded his Senate race said in a statement:

“There were obviously a lot of problems with his election, but there is no path forward in my race.”

Lake said:

“I am still in this fight with you. For two years, I’ve been sounding the alarm about our broken election system here in Arizona and this past week has confirmed everything we’ve been saying.”

“Our election officials failed us miserably. Rest assured I have assembled the best and brightest legal team, and we are exploring every avenue to correct the many wrongs that have been done this past week.”

Arizona’s Election Day was mishandled, possibly on purpose. 70 of Maricopa County’s tabulators were not working, causing huge delays in about 30% of that county’s 223 voting places. The markings were too light to read. That happened because the ballots were 20 inches long and the machines were set for 19 inches, which compressed the image and caused the ink to be lightened and the boxes to be slightly offset.

#3  I think the Republican AG and Gov will certify based on two factors:
1. What they have on them.
2. The size of the post office bag they are being offered.

People who are pointing out that certifying will end their political careers seem to have missed the point.

#2  There's so much that is screwed-up in this AZ election, I don't see how it can be certified.

#1  Think of vote fraud as a kind of crime wave. Better rules don't help so long as no one is obeying the rules you've already got. Instead you take it apart, systematically, piece by piece. Note that most Republicans have 100% failed us in this effort.
