| Canada Relocates another Batch of Afghan Refugees from Pakistan |

Sean Fraser, the Canadian Minister of Immigration announced on Wednesday, November 16, that a chartered flight carrying 324 Afghan refugees from Pakistain had landed in Halifax, in eastern Canada. According to the Canadian official, his country has hosted 24,000 Afghans, who have been relocated from Pakistain, Tajikistan, and other transit countries. "Canada has now welcomed over 24,000 Afghan refugees and we won’t stop until we meet our commitment to resettle at least 40,000. This commitment is one of the largest in the world, and Canadians should be proud of this leadership on the world stage," Fraser wrote on Twitter. The information provided by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Department of Canada reveals that 19 chartered flights from Pakistain alone have taken Afghan refugees to Canada. According to a statement from the Canadian Immigration Department, 347 Afghan refugees were moved to Canada last week on November 10. The announcement also added that the Afghan refugees will be settled in 39 Canadian cities. |
