made an on-air reference to the Clinton family's alleged tendency toward killing their political opponents following a public Twitter spat between the Republican and former first lady Hillary Clinton.
"I'm in perfect health, my brakes on my car are in good shape, and I'm not suicidal," Lake said in a Fox appearance.
Right-wing conspiracy theorists and unserious memers, among others, have long attributed suspicious deaths to the Clinton family, including convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, former Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich, and even Harambe the gorilla.
None of these claims have been substantiated. Epstein's death was ruled a suicide while Rich's killer remains at large. Harambe died at the hands of Cincinnati zoo staff who intervened to rescue a three-year-old child who fell into the gorilla's habitat.

Lake shared the moment on Twitter and and tagged Clinton in the post. Her comments appear to represent an attempt to publicly discount any natural or accidental causes of her would-be untimely death.

Clinton had previously criticized Lake on CNN over her reaction to the home invasion at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's home which saw her husband Paul sustain a hammer strike to the head, per the Washington Examiner. Lake insists she did not make light of the attack with her comments.

The Republican seeks to enter the Arizona governor's mansion and is running against Democratic Secretary of State Katie Hobbs. RealClearPolitics currently assigns Lake an average 1.8% advantage in the race.
