United States freezes nearly 1 billion trillion dollars in Saudi assets as tensions between old allies rise
2022-10-27
[HODHODYEMENNEWS] The United States on Wednesday froze huge Saudi assets in a new escalatory step between the two allies.US media reported Biden administration’s refusal to release assets and bonds belonging to the Saudi government, amounting to $987 billion, and placed the Saudi assets under the protection of the national security and economy of the United States.

The Biden administration’s decision came after Riyadh threatened to sell bonds and assets in the United States if the US Congress approved the No Oil Producing and Exporting Cartels Act (NOPEC)’s resolution.

The new crisis is the deepest in the history of the two countries’ relations since before Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
decided to reduce oil production in an unprecedented blow to Washington.

The crisis widened with the widespread circulation of media reports on the Saudi Crown Prince’s mocking of Biden.

#29  Heh - ended up boosting the ruble. Biden won’t stop till we’re standing in the rubble.

#28  Most of our wars are about upholding the petrodollar.

Yup. This one was supposed to crush the ruble. It ended up boosting the rubble and crushing the euro, and it is now setting in motion the dollar’s long slide downward.

#26  Well, we had a good run, didn’t we?

True. 77 years is nothing to sniff at.

But Sterling’s run came to an end and the dollar’s run is coming to an end too.

#25  The end of the petrodollar will result in far fewer foreign wars for Americans to fight in. Most of our wars are about upholding the petrodollar.

But don't worry. The CIA will be there with a color revolution. Just you wait. After all, overthrowing governments and killing people is what they are.

Saudis, Indians, other sovereigns are diversifying out of dollars
Europeans are begging Africans for oil and gas supplies
Saudis are joining the BRICS and will start using their alternative to SWIFT for settling trades

… means that the dollar is about to begin its long march downward. Just like the British pound a century ago

Well, we had a good run, didn’t we?

#19  ^^ just what I was about to say, Billy B.

It's like this administration has sworn to alienate America and push its allies and enemies all together in a bloc that works towards de-fanging the USA for good.

#4  Jerusalem Post report: The American attack on Saudi Arabia isn’t justified Al-Rai, Kuwait, October 14
US President Joe Biden formally launched the campaign against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by announcing last week that he is waiting for Congress to discuss sanctions against Riyadh. This comes against the backdrop of the recent OPEC+ decision to reduce oil production by two million barrels per day, and what was subsequently interpreted by Washington as indirect Saudi support for Moscow in its war against Ukraine. It is important to remember that, as we enter the midterm election season in the US, political flames tend to be fanned by American politicians.

#3  Only found 3 mentions of this significant story all in Arabic media. The story references US media reports. I’m usually pretty good at drilling down to sources. Anyone have recommendations to either official US or Saudi statements on this? Thanks …

The question now is:
If we piss off 1 OPEC major player, do we piss off all of them, Killing 20% of our Oil Imports. What about Liberal Socialist Canada's (51%) and it dislikes of the USA .

BTW:
Saudi Arabia kingdom owns Motiva, America’s largest refinery, and ARAMCO took full control of Port Arthur, Texas, facility in 2017.

Either way, WE the US Citizens are screwed.
