Literal communists ask themselves, 'Why did the Ukraine War unhinge liberals so much?'
2022-10-24
No one censored the headline. Likely the poster used double quotes which the server will not display
[HexBear] Prior to the conflict, I wasn’t a fan of liberals. But at least they were better than conservatives because they didn’t want to glass the Middle East, protested against the Iraq war, made fun of right wing bullshit on Fox News, and didn’t want to gun down Muslims or Hispanics. Or so I thought.

Liberals have gone full fascist and are literally regurgitating 1930s Nazi talking points about the Slavs. As I Russian speaker, I stopped going on most subreddits now due to the obscene racism. I’ve seen shit ranging from "Aktually, Ruzzians are not white or European" to "Lets break Russia up and commit mass ethnic cleansing". It’s not even just Russians, I’ve seen a massive surge in racist posts about Chinese and Indian people since the war started.

Liberals are literally swallowing the most inane nonsense from Ukraine like "Russian orcs shocked at seeing toilets for the first time". And lets not forget the "Russian brainpan too smol to launch nukes so lets nuke them ourselves" posts all over Reddit.

Anyone who even remotely suggests that we shouldn’t arm and send 16 year old Ukrainians to be blown up in human wave attacks is called a Kremlin agent.

Amazingly, many right-wingers like Dr. Jordan Peterson or Candace Owens have better takes on the situation than liberals do. Does anyone have an explanation for this?
Maybe they always were.
Does Dr. Peterson no longer describe himself as a liberal?

#25   Rantburg used to have a graphic where this cute hippie chick was saying something to the effect that, "She never knew how cool war could be until Baraq Obama started one."

Abu Uluque, the currently accessible images library is here, including some that are archived rather than active. Happy searching!

#24  Abu, I always thought of it as the "Soros Axis" of gentrified whites and racial hustlers (often white academics) Vs. 'The Olde White Guard' coalition of union workers and poor Southern Whites (The Clinton Bunch). With CCF money they no longer needed the trade unions or poor whites...

#23  They're both just faces, of course, front men if you will, good at reading from a teleprompter but astonishingly stupid when they go off script. Lord knows where the real power is.

#22   ^ I dunno, Skid. I really don't anymore. It might be reasonable to suspect that Obama is the one who is pulling Biden's strings. But I always suspected somebody was pulling Obama's strings.

#21  I think that would be appropriate here if we could change it from Baraq Obama to Joe Biden.

You differentiate?

People on this board are very knowledgable and generally willing o share insights and knowledge freely. This is especially helpful in the days when Google will hide things they don't like. A search brings up her making rhetorical points not meant to be taken serious, I was hoping you based your statements on more than that.

#19  from The American Conservative:

Woke War 3
Neocons and pro-war liberals are making it impossible to discuss options to endless war in Ukraine. We've been here before

David Frum set the neocon standard for this tactic when he branded the small number of pundits on the Right who opposed the Iraq War as "Unpatriotic Conservatives" at the outset of that strategic disaster. Fast forward to today and anyone who suggests that NATO expansion could have been a contributing factor to the current Ukraine crisis, or that the sanctions imposed on Russia are not working and have backfired on a soon-to-be-shivering Europe, or even that the U.S. must prioritize avoiding a world war with a nuclear-armed Russia, is denounced as a Putin stooge.
Warping the debate in this way allows delusional and contradictory thinking to go unchallenged.

Thus, we get the argument that Putin is a madman who will kill indiscriminately to achieve his aims—but he is also somehow definitely bluffing about using nuclear weapons. And he's only using that bluff because he's losing the war—but if he's not stopped in Ukraine, he will go on to conquer the rest of Europe.

Putin's regime must fall because he has killed or jailed all the liberal reformers and yoked himself to a hardline Far Right, but somehow he will be replaced by a liberal reformer when his regime collapses.

It's nonsensical, and a real debate would expose some of the delusions in this thinking. But we aren't allowed to have one.

#18  "So far, she has advised the US to invade Australia and Canada."

Western Liberal Democracies are having problems with tyranny, and voting doesnt seem to work. Do you think the Dutch want to give up their farms? No. Do you think Americans want to give up gasoline powered cars? No. If voting our way out of tyranny doesnt work, what will? C.Owens cut to the chase - how do we escape tyranny if voting doesnt solve the tyranny problem (tyranny of advocacy) in Western Liberal Democracies?

#17  Drinks, girlie photos, quirky analyses, sometimes going where no 'expert' can, some zany outbursts of passion, nonsense that rhymes, badanov's reports on Rooshia, the occasional slingfest or bar fight. And there's always at least two firmly opinionated adults bickering. 😸

#16  Russia has a legitimate beef with US client state Ukraine. Russia wants Ukraine back under its influence, and she will destroy it if she has to.

The problem with using the might of American weapons against the Russians is that the Russian are learning, and making workarounds in responding. At some point they'll stop using Soviet tactics and doctrine, and then they will adapt a uniquely Russian doctrine for use against NATO, et al.

Russia wants what it wants, and will lose the war. But Volodya intends to win the peace.

One of the amazing things about Rantburg is that there is no recorded 'membership' and you don't have to 'login' like Facistbook and Twatter. Yet there is very little spam. And few trolls (aka Chew Toys). Few flamewars. (Just enough for spice) This is a testament to Fred and the Mods.

#12  That is an interesting read when I'm asking to see things I' haven't seen rather than shying away from them.

One might say insulting rather than providing evidence isn't a good look, it makes it look like your point was a lie.

Homemade websites develop little quirks in the code over time, Thromoger Shease8409. Rantburg’s code also dislikes spam and has a secret list of key words that go along with that — it’s all part of the fun.

If you want the smooth experience of actual social media sites Facebook or Twitter, it takes large teams of full time professional coders instead of a single genius playing in his home office during his free time.

#8  Comments from the link (you really should click through):

"It occurs to me that some people on this website might be too young to remember the Iraq War, but yeah this is the exact kind of slavering bloodlust that swept the nation then too"

"As an old who remembers those days starting in 2001 well, I totally agree - with one exception…

…This is worse. There’s been a total and utter lack of any visable opposition ot this war or escalating conflict in general, the media consesus is far stronger, and notions of acceptable thought have narrowed far more than back then (unless you’re some nazi-adjacent crackpot grifter).

Liberals have always been bloodthirsty, uncritically nationalist flag wavers for atrocity with the benefit of a ‘just war’ narrative. But I also think people are still underestimating the effects of a 20 year project of extreme media consolidation, the mainstreaming and control of the interent, and history’s biggest ever domestic propaganda misinformation campaign over the last decade. The scope and ability of that last one especially puts anything the McCarthy era could have considered to absolute shame."

"I’m in my early 40s and agree on all points. I remember the Iraq and Afghanistan pro-war propaganda very well. And what’s happening in the western media today dwarfs even that."

#7  Jordan Peterson or Candace Owens

Two troubling nut jobs.
Posted by: M. Murcek   2022-10-24 10:53

#6  Peterson is a liberal college professor. Has been all his life. They are calling him right-wing because he objects to compelled speech regarding trans people. This says nothing about Peterson himself. It only demonstrates how much the left has moved.

#4   Anyone who thinks Candace Owens has a superior take on anything is mentally unfit. So far, she has advised the US to invade Australia and Canada, I assume she'll want war on Switzerland next.

Far as Ukraine goes, Russia invaded Ukraine and has caused tremendous suffering and the logic was simply to force Ukraine to stop having an independent identity from Russians, it's that simple.

It's in our national interests to help weaken a nation like Russia who is the junior partner of China, it hurts both parties.
The US since 1945 has always opposed Russian expansionism, why is now a bad time to do that?

#3  These are the far left, communists. They are not liberal. They are the furthest thing from liberal. Liberals believe in free speech and Enlightenment values. Leftists say things like "liberals are objectively the moderate wing of fascism".

This social media site can't handle escaping quotes to inject them into the database? Seriously? That sort of thing was fixed back during the Apache server era.

The whole link is good reading. I look forward to the conversation.
