US considering giving obsolete Hawk Missiles to Ukraine

According to General Milley, one of the air-defense systems requested by #Ukraine is Hawk or improved Hawkeye system. "That's a medium-altitude, medium-range system. It's an older system, but it's quite effective".

Taiwan responded that they have 249 Hawks fully upgraded and due for disposal next year so they are leaning toward quickly giving them to Ukraine too. The USA has 10,000s in storage last upgraded in 1995

#5 I-HAWK is nearly ideal for the role of cruise and short range ballistic missile interceptor. Their are thousands of them in storage, has good range and some models can even interface with modern radars. It could saturate a country like Ukraine and leave the more modern IADS to take down Russian aircraft and more challenging missiles.

#2 IHawk might be somewhere in someone's inventory. The unimproved Hawks required too much time related maintenance to be nothing more than a display item today. And its a point defense system.
