#5 What Rambler says is true but Ukrainians may well be getting themselves overextended. |

#4 NN2N1, there are a couple of differences between Hitler/Napoleon and the Ukrainians: 1. Hitler/Napoleon were the invaders. 2. They did not expect to be there for the winter, and were unprepared for it. 3. The Ukrainians largely share a climate with the Russians 4. The Ukrainians are defending their own homeland. |

#3 Wondering if Russia is pulling the old Russia battle tactic of trick of slow roll back and wait for Winter. Let the advancing forces over extend themselves. Then shit the crap out them in a late Spring, early Summer offensive. It did work with both Hitler and Napoleon armies. |

#1 What blows my mind is how the forces in Donetsk just keep attacking, day after pointless day, regardless of the situation. I'm coming to the conclusion that it's the only thing they can do. They have no mobility at all. No way to reinforce or shift to the crisis points. They can only 'reinforce in place'. |
