#2 $1.5 trillion (7% of GDP) seems sketchy. That would mean 25% of medical dollar is for treating fentanyl abuse. That said. The way to stop drug smuggling is to spread the pain. Intercept a package? Close down the Mexican border to all trade for 30 days. Same for Chinese imports. Make their governments and businesses incur unsustainable losses and the cartels and Chinese fentanyl factories will be shut down in less time than you become hungry again after a Chinese buffet. Of course that would inconvenience our ruling class from profiting from cheap foreign labor, so a no go. |
