On the territory controlled by Damascus in Syria, 26 cases of cholera were detected, the country's Ministry of Health reports on September 12.According to the agency, most cases of infection were detected in the province of Aleppo, where two patients have already died.
In addition, four cases of cholera were detected in Latakia, and two more cases of the disease were recorded in Damascus.
“Two deaths in Aleppo are caused by the belated appeal of patients for medical care and the presence of concomitant chronic diseases ,” the Syrian Ministry of Health reports.
"Citizens should observe sanitary and hygienic standards, drink water from safe sources, thoroughly wash fruits and vegetables, go to the hospital in a timely manner if an infection is suspected," the department emphasizes.
