| King Charles III formally proclaimed monarch following the death of Queen Elizabeth II |

 King Charles III was officially proclaimed as the new monarch on Saturday. The ceremony took place following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday. A period of Royal Mourning will be observed from Friday until seven days after the Queen’s Funeral, the Royal Family said in a statement. |
