![]() The Donetsk militias claim they use drones to adjust fire when using tanks in an indirect fire role. It's quite common there.

#12 Indirect fire with a spotter? Twenty rounds? That's not a tank, that's self-propelled artillery. Tanks are self-propelled artillery, they just need actual ammunition for the task. I think the Russians and the Israelis have experimented with that sort of thing with varying degrees of success. |

#11 When do they target Putie Poot himself, and will Hunter count as collateral damage? |

#10 No genuine Armor Officer would tout an indirect fire kill, let alone 20 rounds of HE. That's cannon-cocker, Red-Leg noise, the proof of it is the call-for-fire use of a spotter drone. Little better than H&I area fires with a lucky kill. |

#9 This war shows the need for a tank or vehicle launched over the horizon precision munition. Something like an SDB II that is gun or rocket launched that is capable of finding the target when cued by a UAV, counter battery or SAR radar. |

#8 For purists, indirect fire doesn't count. Indirect fire with a spotter? Twenty rounds? That's not a tank, that's self-propelled artillery. |

#2 I recall back in the early 90s, the introduction of drones to the NTC. They learned quickly to kill the drones. Interesting that so many have failed to pick up the battlefield aspects of the tech. |
