[AA] A car belonging to the daughter of famous Russian political scientist and philosopher Alexander Dugin exploded late Saturday in Moscow, according to media reports.

Darya Dugina’s car exploded on Mozhayskoye highway around 9.45 p.m. local time, with witnesses claiming the blast rocked the vehicle in the middle of the road and scattered debris.

Preliminary reports said she died instantly. The elder Dugin has arrived at the scene, according to a video on social media.

There is no official confirmation or information on the cause of the explosion.

It is unclear if the explosion was an assassination attempt targeting her father, who has been described as the “brain” of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Darya Dugina, like her father, was engaged in journalism, philosophy and political science.

#11  It will be interesting to see how this gross error is reciprocated. That’ll provide insight on which entity selected the target. Not a good time to be on Hunter Bidens security detail - sympathy for the poor guys that drew that assignment under any circumstances

#10  And of course: Name one Russian who we know is responsible for political assassinations. Starts with a "V".

#9  Russian or Ukrainian organized crime gets my vote, except it wasn't a small arms attack.

#8  Third option is it's a crime syndicate sending Putin a message

#7  Interesting messaging dilemma for the Russians. If they say the Ukrainians did it, they're conceding that the Ukrainians can conduct targeted assassinations in the middle of Moscow. If they say Russian dissidents did it, they conceding that active and effective dissent exists. English-language Tass says nothing about it, so I assume they're still working on the narrative. Maybe she was smoking while the gas cap was open?

#4  This is the first time I've ever felt bad for Putin's Rasputin. Somebody is sending a message. But who - and too whom?
