Moscow has allegedly softened its stance on possible talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, Turkish television channel CNN Turk reported.
According to the channel's sources, if earlier the Russian side insisted on compiling a roadmap for Ukraine before the summit, now it allowed the possibility of discussing the roadmap directly at the meeting of the presidents of Russia and Ukraine. The sources added that the leaders of the two countries can discuss and define a roadmap, after which the delegations can proceed with its implementation.
This will be perceived by a significant part of Russian society as a betrayal and it is unlikely that they do not understand this. Such negotiations with the Ukrainians, when they become persecuted, are no longer needed by Russia, especially since the West will immediately talk about the victory over it and demand to give up the levers of control. The stuffing of the Turkish media is understandable, to understand the reaction of the Russian society, or it can rock it.
As for the meeting itself, in principle, NOTHING can be accepted there. Evidence of this was the meeting in Paris at the end of 2019 between Putin, Macron, Merkel and Zelensky, when the leaders came out with an agreed statement (at least this followed from similar statements by the leaders of Russia, France, Germany), but Zelensky immediately began to grunt and make faces, with all his appearance that this is not so.
Any promises and agreements Ukraine also never fulfills and never fulfilled. This is evidenced by the Minsk agreements and the Steinmeier formula, which Kyiv did not comply with "interpreting" the agreements completely contrary to what was written in black and white and signed.
In 2016, Steinmeier proposed that elections be held in the separatist-held territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which are de facto controlled by Russian-backed separatists
And if the Ukrainians promise something, they will never fulfill it. Checked.
