| #4 As I recall, for smallpox it is the poxes that carry the infection — in cowpox, too. Jenner’s vaccine involved dipping a splinter in a cowpox pustule, then inoculating the target with the fluid. Whereas a smallpox infection could be deliberately spread by dipping splinters in active poxes, then setting them where they would scratch the targets —trade blankets for Indians in the early days, reportedly. |

| #2 ...Oh, that's going to go over like the proverbial turd in a punchbowl. The word has very quietly gone out that no matter what the research says, it's skin-to-skin contact, with only a VERY minor STD component. Anything else is going to be hammered down hard by the Usual Suspects. Mike |
