#9 Big difference in those prisoners and the ones now. What you think the Russians would say if we or anyone else took them? |

#8 With the bridges damaged, the Russian likely cannot supply an offensive action. But I would be surprised if the Ukrainians can mount sufficient offense to take Kherson and push the Russians back across the Dnipro. |

#4 The three bridge crossings are heavily damage so not even trucks can get across. You can still walk over them, but the fact vehicles can't cuts off all supply for the troops. As fast as the Russians are building pontoon bridges, the Ukrainians are blowing them up. Give it a couple weeks if nothing changes and the Russians will have eaten all of their food supplies and will either start streaming back across the river as a "goodwill gesture" or will start surrendering. |

#1 ....And here's where it gets touchy: if the Ukranians are actually getting these guys in an encirclement, they'd be perfectly justified in wiping them out - but their Western sponsors will cut off the ammo and supplies before they let them do that, and the Russians will flatly lose their sh!t, possibly up to and including WMD level. Given the mastery of PR that the Ukranians have shown so far, I wonder if anybody's considered the possibility of letting them surrender and then letting them walk back to Russian lines. Take every single weapon, take their names and pictures, give 'em all an MRE (or whatever their equivalent is) and point them towards the nearest Russian unit. And, by the by, video every last bit of it. Mike |
