Pedophile Ed Leclair skips appeals process, drinks cloudy liquid as verdict is read, now TU
2022-08-14
[Washington Examiner] A Texas man found guilty of child sexual assault has died after drinking a cloudy liquid in court as his verdict was being read.

Edward Leclair, 57, drank the liquid Thursday while his verdict was read in the 16th District Court in Denton, Texas. Leclair picked up the bottle and started drinking from it as soon as he was found guilty of the first of five counts of child sexual assault against one victim in 2016.

Afterward, Leclair was taken to his holding cell in Denton County Jail, where bailiffs later found him gray in the face and unconscious. Leclair would briefly vomit while in his cell before being taken to Medical City Denton, where he was pronounced dead.

"It wasn't like he was just taking sips of water," First Assistant Attorney Jamie Beck from the Denton County District Attorney’s Office said, according to WFAA. "He was literally throwing it back, so to speak."

Leclair was arrested in 2018 on a $30,000 bond, which he paid soon after. Jury selection happened Monday at the Denton County Courts Building.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy to find Leclair’s cause of death. Texas Rangers have taken the bottle into evidence for further investigation.

#7  #4 A room, a bottle of Jack and a pistol with only 1 round in the chamber should always be an option.

#5  I was not aware that bottles of cloudy liquid were commonly available in Texas courtrooms. I am not saying I disapprove, but I am curious about the bottle's backstory.

Many other such scum should save Taxpayers, the $$$$ for their room and board until they die.

BTW: In doing a little digging. I see the Media has 2 Edward Leclair's Sex crimes. The one listed here and another age 68 located in VT.

"Hmmpf... I should think that was obvious, Lestrade."

"Yes, but surely the DI must know what liquid it was!"

"To what end? Man was poisoned. Probably at his own request."

"No no no! He has avoided the good justice of the State! To our way of thinking, he has as good as absconded!"

"Nonsense, man. Justice is done. Go home."
