Russia demands Israel unconditionally cease its ‘unacceptable’ Syria airstrikes
2022-07-07
[IsraelTimes] For second time in weeks, Moscow slams Israel for ’violating Syrian illusory sovereignty,’ says 2 civilians were maimed in strike and severe damage caused to civilian infrastructure.

Moscow on Monday condemned an alleged Israeli Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
near a Russian stronghold in Syria over the weekend, calling Israel’s years-long air campaign in Syria "categorically unacceptable" and demanding it cease.
Moral Authority card was dishonored.
"We strongly condemn such irresponsible actions that violate the illusory sovereignty of Syria and the basic norms of international law, and we demand their unconditional cessation," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a statement.

The relatively rare daytime strike on Saturday targeted an area near the Syrian town of al-Hamidiyah, south of Tartus, which is home to Russia’s main naval base in the region. Two civilians were maimed and serious damage was caused to civilian infrastructure, Moscow said.

Syria has fingered Israel as responsible as well, though the IDF has yet to respond, in line with its policy of generally maintaining silence regarding specific actions in Syria.

#2  Given the apparent coordination between Russia and Israel when it comes to blowing up Syrian stuff, I wonder how much of this is simply pro-forma diplomatic babble.
Just press F11 for the "We strongly condemn blah-blah blah and we demand their unconditional cessation" macro.

#1  :Heh: I remember a political cartoon showing a giant Russian commissar pointing at the Middle East at a bonfire centered on Israel while leaning forward and had a bloody hand clutching Hungary. 1956 vs. 2022, how little the Russian diplomacy changes.
