Today's blacklisted American: Republican candidate for Michigan governor arrested by FBI

[Behind the black, HT Insty] Blacklists are back and the Democrats have got ’em: One day after President Joe Biden joked on television with Jimmy Kimmel about "sending [Republicans] to jail," the FBI arrested Ryan Kelley, one of the Republicans running for Michigan governor, on misdemeanor charges for daring to stand on the steps of the Capitol building on January 6, 2021, but never entering it.

Kelley is charged 17 months after the Jan. 6 riot and on the same day the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol is to hold a primetime hearing Thursday to present never-seen video, new audio and a mass of evidence following a year-long investigation by the select panel.

The criminal complaint obtained by Fox News Digital charged Kelley with: knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; knowingly engaging in any act of physical violence against person or property in any restricted building or grounds; willfully injure or commit any depredation against any property of the United States. All are misdemeanor offenses. [emphasis mine]

The videos appear to show Kelley on the steps of the Capitol, encouraging the demonstrators, but do not show him entering the building ever, or doing any damage or committing any violence. In other words, he was there to express his first amendment rights "to petition the government for the redress of grievance," an action the Bill of Rights expressly forbids the federal government from interfering with in any way.

And even if Kelley had committed some minor misdemeanors, who ever heard of arresting someone for such charges, seventeen months after the fact?

This is a down-right totalitarian action by the Biden administration, using the FBI to arrest its political opponents not for any real crime but for daring to challenge the rule of Democrats — during an election campaign. Having discovered during the Trump administration that they could get away with spying on Republicans and drumming up false charges to politically smear them, the Democrats and its allies in the federal government have moved on to the next step, using those false charges to arrest their opponents.

Gird your loins. Things are not going to get better in the next five months. All polls show that the Democrats are going to be badly defeated in the November elections. These power-hungry thugs however cannot tolerate defeat, and are going to use every tool in their toolbox — now including police power and military force — to prevent it.

More arrests are coming. So will efforts to block the candidacy of any viable Republican candidates. So will efforts to falsify election results. It is now the goal of the Democratic Party — and its mindless minions like Jimmy Kimmel — to rule without opposition, for all time. They will stop at nothing to make sure that happens. Count on it.

I would also say that if I lived in Michigan, I would now consider Ryan Kelley my first choice for Michigan governor, hands down.
