| #4 The National Resistance Front is the current generation of the old Northern Alliance that fought off the Taliban back in the 1990s, ie. the non-Pashtun tribes, jpal. The old leaders ended up being governors of their provinces and key members of the post-Talib government, while their sons were sent off for proper training from military academies and then finance and governance at university on the assumption that those skills would be needed again. And so they are. |
