One more video of Ukrainian Stugna-P ATGM hit on a Russian BTR APC |

I am just posting this short video in the hope that someone can explain the tactics here. "OK, guys, we're in enemy territory. Let's drive down this straight road that we haven't scouted. Driver, keep your speed constant. Infantry guys riding on top, don't bother checking the flanks. I got this." Poor bastards. |

#3 From the length of time from launch to hit, it was a fairly long shot. Was the missile laser guided or fire and forget? Crosshairs kept on target would suggest laser guided; but not clear, could be wanting to get video. I agree, "Poor bastards!" |

#2 I think that was a long distance shot. Also, if vehicle mounted, could be five minutes earlier that was a safe road. |

#1 Probably on top to avoid the concussion if they hit a landmine. See pics from Vietnam with the troops sitting on top of the M113 carriers rather than being inside. The hit shows being inside would not have made much of a difference. |
