#2 the most recent estimate by a non belligerent for Russian fatalities was 15k by the UK Def Ministry on April 25 the most recent estimate... for Ukraine fatalities was 2k-4k but that was earlier, on March 9 and Ukraine has acknowledged significant fatalities in their counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region UN estimates about 4k civilian fatalities as of early May |

#1 The only quibble I have with this analysis is the author's contention that an economic collapse in the west will be the groundwork for further radicalization of politics. Radical politics in the west have always been a "leisure" activity. When you are safe and secure in your economic circumstances, the craziest in the society will embrace politics that ultimately lead to economic destruction. When that economic destruction in a strong economy doesn't take place, well then, that is proof things need to change! |
