Suspect Video/Photos Released of Criminal Suspects Involved in May 3rd March

[PORTLANDOREGONGOV] The Portland Police Bureau continues to investigate the criminal damage done to businesses downtown during a free speech event held in the evening hours of May 3, 2022. Investigators have retrieved video from several damaged properties. PPB is requesting the public’s help in identifying the people actively damaging the property as well as the people holding umbrellas and concealing the criminal actors.

Included are several photos and videos of these vandals. In one video, a person applying graffiti is dressed in a black sweatshirt, blue jeans, and distinctive black and white shoes.

In another, a person dressed all in black with a distinctive hat is suspected of breaking several windows. The still photos are attached to this blurb. The video and still photographs are available here: https://youtu.be/3bxhxkWknRk . All photos and video included in this document are being released for public distribution in an effort to further a criminal investigation. All usage rights, including broadcast, is granted.

Anyone with information on these suspects is asked to send that information to crimetips@portlandoregon.gov and reference case 22-117206.

On the evening of Tuesday, May 3, 2022, a group gathered in the downtown area and marched at various times. During the marches, some participants committed acts of vandalism, including graffiti and broken windows that damaged government buildings, coffee shops, and others (photos). Some burning material and incendiary devices were thrown at the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse, but it's unknown if any damage was caused. No known injuries.

One arrest was made. Luke S. Anderson, 31, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center of charges of Reckless Burning and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree.

Officers are assessing the scope of the damage and investigating the crimes committed. If anyone has information, including witness statements, photos, video, or other evidence, please e-mail crimetips@portlandoregon.gov and reference case number 22-117206.
