| Rocket barrage hit US base in western Iraq Saturday | |

| [HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] A barrage of rockets has reportedly landed close to an airbase in Iraq’s western province of Anbar, where American military forces are stationed. Sabereen News, a Telegram news channel associated with Iraq’s Popular Mobilisation Forces reported that at least four BM-21 Grad rockets ...Soviet-developed 122-mm rockets, usually launched from trucks. Newer versions are reported to have a range of up to 30 km.... were launched at the Ain al-Asad Air base, located about 160 kilometers west of the capital Baghdad on Saturday evening.
It added that security forces have opened an investigation to find out the circumstances of the incident. A group calling itself the International Resistance® has grabbed credit for the attack, which is the latest in a series of assaults that have targeted US occupation forces over the past few months. | |
