| #3 I have wondered if Russian pseudo Private MC's/SC's have drained the pool of trained career infantry in their army. That and Russia going "Transformational" by concentrating on armor/artillery/drones instead of classic Combined Arms structures -- you don't have what you don't support. |

| #1 "Operation Barkhane is an ongoing anti-insurgent operation that started on 1 August 2014, and is led by the French military against Islamist groups in Africa's Sahel region. It consists of a roughly 5,000-strong French force, which is permanently headquartered in N’Djamena, the capital of Chad.'
