The menacing 40-mile-long Russian military vehicle convoy bearing down on Kyiv appears to have stalled
2022-03-03
[INSIDER] A large 40-mile-long convoy of Russian military vehicles appears to have stalled on its way to Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine and a key objective as more and more Russian forces move into the country to support Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine has suffered a number of setbacks, and the Russian advance has slowed in the face of not only substantial Ukrainian resistance but also logistics and supply problems.

Some invading Russian forces are "literally out of gas" and are "having problems feeding their troops," according to a senior US defense official who briefed reporters on Tuesday.
They have not foking 'stalled.' They are the BAIT! There could be no other military or tactical reason for parking a convoy bumper to bumper, hub to hub. Putin has his air force and nuclear forces standing by, awaiting a NATO response. For the love of Gawd, DO NOT TAKE THE BAIT !

#29  Point of information for our excitable Russian friend: President Biden’s Obama Deal version 2.0 is not legally binding unless ratified by the U.S. Senate. Due to illness, the Democrats are actually a minority in the Senate at the moment, so it getting the thing signed isn’t nearly as meaningful as it appears.

#27  The US Stab Israel In-the-Back Deal will lift sanctions on all of Iran's most notorious terrorists, thugs and murderous bandits -- using that favored tool of American wannabe dictators, an Executive Order.

Gabriel Noronha @GLNoronha:
"...the Supreme Leaders Office EO was not at all related to Iran’s nuclear program, and the removal of these sanctions under a so-called nuclear deal is a ridiculous farce. The State Department’s lawyers know better but were forced into this by Malley..."

But wait! There's MORE:

13.There’s much more: sanctions will be lifted on huge swaths of the regime’s economic and financial arms (close to 40 major entities) that support the Iranian terror, repression, and WMD infrastructure and were sanctioned under those legal authorities.

#26  Meanwhile, in Vienna...
Untrue American Ally is -- are you sitting down? -- begging and bribing the Russians to help persuade the Iranians to sign the JCPOA. Today (GMT) or tomorrow.

Laugh or cry-- why not both (tears of laughter)?
Take it away, former State Dept analyst Gabriel Noronha on twitter

@GLNoronha
"1. NEW: My former career @StateDept, NSC, and EU colleagues are so concerned with the concessions being made by @RobMalley in Vienna that they’ve allowed me to publish some details of the coming deal in the hopes that Congress will act to stop the capitulation.
🤣

2. “What’s happening in Vienna is a total disaster” one warned. The entire negotiations have been filtered and “essentially run” by Russian diplomat Mikhail Ulyanov.

The concessions and other misguided policies have led three members of the U.S. negotiating team to leave.

😂

#25  Congrats to the Russian Army.

In 10 days, they have moved 20 miles into enemy territory before giving up and running out of food, fuel and morale. Now they just bomb Civilians until Ukraine's forces come and rub them out.

Absolutely, only a fucking idiot would want to do this.

#22  I haven't met a single person who wants it. I think the appetite outside the Beltway and some suites on Wall Street is quite limited to non-exassert.

Putin is quite eager for an expanded war, apparently.

#21  Here's how China sees what's going on:

China has firmly believed for 20+ years that they will inevitably defeat America in the coming shooting war. And also that they will inevitably take Russian territory by quiet colonization that Russia will not fight for. Given Chinese tires alone, what odds that Chinese planners have considered all the factors in making their evaluations?

#20  Ref #17: 25 miles of vehicles, 4 operators each
100 vehicles per mile [5280 ft/50 ft per vehicle]
Where are the 10,000 personnel?

Gone back to get more vehicles ?

#16  While you weren't looking, Mariupol is completely cut off. Russia's steadily achieving all its goals in the south and east -- everything that was supposed to be delivered per the Minsk II agreement. The agreement Ukraine signed and welshed on.

#15  Most likely they are setting up forward bases. They stopped just inside their artillery's range and are starting to work their way around the edges of the city to encircle it. Pretty standard Soviet doctrine. Set a base for artillery, encircle the city, then get online and roll in right behind the artillery barrage.

#12  Bit of a tire expert here. Those aren't Soviet-era heavy truck radials. Chinese military tires, and I believe specifically the Yellow Sea YS20. This is a tire I first encountered in Somalia and Sudan; it's a bad Chinese copy of the excellent Michelin XZL military tire design. cite XD

#11  The western press is providing only propaganda and spin. Russia has taken over Kherson and Mariupol will soon fall as well.

Here's how China sees what's going on: it's the end of the 30 year long post Cold War era. Russia will win this war and Russia and China will now be allies.

#8  Some sources claim 40 miles, other 40 km. I believe it started as 25 miles, which is pretty close to 40 km.

But 40 miles is scarier!

#7  When the choices are between corruption and incompetence in a 3rd world military and a game of 4d chess...

It's incompetence and corruption.

No need to send an airstrike; half those vehicles won't run long enough to be combat effective.

#6  Again, where are the supply points along side the road? Trying to deploy armor in the trees is iffy depending on density, asking for thrown tracks and slow go.

#2  /\ Yes, you've nailed it. All of the above.

Neoconservatives and the MIC (one in the same) are restless and impatient to get involved in yet another war. You did see the Ukrainian lapel pins, flags, and pocket squares in the State of the Union ?

Meanwhile, we continue to support Putin's expansionism by purchasing his crude oil. Global war, the perfect pretext for globalism. NATO needs a booster shot. Xi needs validation. COVID is waning. Fauci is gone from the media. A new, even larger crisis must soon unfold.

The Super Yamato class battleships of WWII were built with US steel. Japan had no steel. With the exception of petro-dollars, Putin is broke. You decide what is taking place here.

Oh by the way, billionaire and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg has a new job. Klik on the link below.

#1  What logic is there to apparently leaving that much military force supposedly to act as sitting ducks? Pincer move around Kiev that's not developed yet? Vlad's going strong somewhere else?
