| HTS executes elderly in Idlib |

Yesterday, a member of HTS security apparatus informed the family of Abbous the news of his execution, as a court affiliated with HTS in the city of Ariha confirmed the news, without explaining the reason for the execution, the sources added. HTS refuses to hand over the body of the elderly, who was arrested in May in his house without revealing the reason for arrest, to his family, according to the sources. Abbous was a former employee of the Zayzoon Thermal Power Station west of Hama, who defected from the Syrian government at the beginning of the protests in 2011, the sources said. Human rights reports and organizations have previously talked about HTS’s practices and violations committed in its prisons, including torture, killing, settling scores, and burial in mass graves and places that so far have not been disclosed.
