A shootout broke out between Lions of Islam and security forces in Naira area of south Kashmir

"Encounter has started at Naira area of #Pulwama. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow, " a police front man said.
The encounter broke out soon after security forces cordoned the area following a tip off about the presence of Lions of Islam there.
The number of trapped Lions of Islam was not immediately known.

A policeman was rubbed out by faceless myrmidons in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday, reports quoting officials said.
Quoting a police official, news agency GNS reported that Head Constable Ali Mohammad was fired upon by unknown faceless myrmidons in the Hassanpora area of the district, leaving him critically injured.
He was shifted to GMC Anantnag were doctors declared him dead. "He was brought dead," a doctor at GMC Anantnag said.
The killing comes a day after a cop escaped unhurt in a holy warrior attack in the Batmaloo area of Srinagar.

The encounters took place in Pulwama and Budgam.
"5 turbans of Pakistain sponsored proscribed terror outfits LeT and JeM killed in dual encounters in last 12 hours. JeM commander terrorist Zahid Wani and a Pak terrorist among the killed. Big success for us," a tweet by the J@K police read.
In the Budgam encounter one terrorist was killed and an AK-47 rifle was recovered. In the past month 22 turbans have been shot full of holes in nearly one dozen encounters.
