#10  Late entry for Things Knickerbocker
From The Oldest Bar in Every State
Knickerbocker Saloon, Lafayette Indiana (Est. 1835)

Reading the liquor license displayed on the wall in Indiana's oldest watering hole may be the only time you’ll see the words 'Knickerbocker" and "No. 1" in the same sentence this century. Even better, if you're a history buff, that liquor license was the first one issued in the entire state. Which makes sense, given it's the oldest bar.

#8  Reminds me of the spring I left the Colorado mountains. Three day blizzard dumped 5 feet of snow. The Dodge would push through the fresh powder but I couldn't open the doors. Had to climb in and out the windows.

#7  The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree

Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.
