Murder in Canada skyrockets to 30-year high
2021-11-27
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] Murder in Canada shot to a 30 year high in 2020. This was largely due to the murder rates in Alberta and Nova Scotia.
Any word on who's doing these increased murders?
In total, 2020 saw the murder of 743 people in Canada. This is 56 more murders than in 2019, according to Global News.
That's like Baltimore and Chicago combined!
In Alberta, both Calgary and Edmonton saw steepening murder rates. Despite murder being on the rise, overall crime is down, which can be seen as a consequence of the lockdowns that occurred in 2020.
Nobody I know committed any crimes while locked down. None of us killed anybody either.
During his throne speech, Trudeau vowed to tackle gun crime by allowing the provinces to ban handguns if they want to. Previously, the Trudeau government only allowed cities to ban handguns, according to the National Post.
Rather than ban gun ownership by the law-abiding, maybe he should do something about the people actually shooting people?
"Gun violence is on the rise in many of our biggest cities. While investing in prevention and supporting the work of law enforcement, we must also continue to strengthen gun control," said the Governor General on behalf of Trudeau.

#4  Ban guns, that will fix the problem! After all no one ever uses a knife to commit murder.

#2  Trudeau government only allowed cities to ban handguns

Cause you don't have a Bill of Rights declaring they are rights 'granted' not by the state, but inherent to the individual citizen.
