According to preliminary data, armed clashes began in the afternoon of October 24 in the streets of Herat. Among the dead were seven children and three women, and many civilians were injured of varying severity. It is noted that these are the first armed clashes in the city since it came under the control of the Taliban. Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman Said Khosti, appointed by the government of the Taliban, said on Twitter that the shooting in the streets of Herat was provoked by representatives of armed groups specializing in kidnapping.
