#4  I can well imagine the stress level causing the teeth grinding. Constant pain or painful infections also. I met a black forest tank unit commander who could never sleep during a thunder storm. Seems many tanks didn't have rubber in tracks to protect them if hit by lightning.Everyday people doing heroic things. Long may their stories be told.

#2  After he told me details off a lot of the battles he was in, I realized he killed a LOT of people.

#1  My father was over heavy weapons that supported the infantry during the island hoping campaign. The infantry would send him maps with requests on the back of the maps for supporting fire from his artillery, mortars, 50 caliber machine guns. Along side those requests was a list of current KIA, MIA, and wounded in action of US troops in the area the map covered.

By the end of the war in the South Pacific he had ground his teeth down to the gums from the stress of battle against a vicious Imperial Japanese Military.
