First They Circled the Wagons, Now NRA is Circling the Drain
2021-10-13
by Jeff Knox

[AmmoLand] The “leadership” of the National Rifle Association, are either thoroughly corrupt, delusional, or both. They held their Annual Meeting of Members on October 2nd, 2021, of this year, and the event was described by the new President of the Board of Directors, Charles Cotton as follows:

“The proceedings in Charlotte were an amazing celebration of NRA fellowship and freedom. Under the direction of Wayne LaPierre, the NRA is strong and secure – well-positioned to chart its course for the future.”

#3  NRA suffers from "Cult of Personality", to coin a phrase.
Think Nicolae Ceaușescu for how it'll turn out.

#2  NRA is an unfortunate victim of shifting resources. Instead of scarce money (No, really) going to a national organization which is steadily losing its narrow mandate, resources are being shifted to local 2A organizations.

Local 2A organizations are more nimble and focused, everything NRA isn't.

The fight is now local. NRA, by virtue of its antics -- financial and organizational -- has made itself irrelevant to the cause of freedom

If the NRA wants to redeem itself, it can begin by moving Congress to repeal federal gun control laws from 1930 et seq.

#1  The NRA may have started as a politically conservative organization, but that does not make them immune to the well-known movement => business => racket progression.
