#7 You can hide the boat from radar reflection if you know what angle the radar is coming from. The big problem is the wake. Less surface at the waterline, less wake. Hence the work being done on catamarans with subsurface propulsion pods. |

#2 It's a SAR radar image taken from orbit. The overhead aspect would be the best case for a radar to detect the ships as most effort would be made to reduce the side, and slightly above, radar reflection. |
