#4 Been many years for me as well. I was prompted to go by a traveling partner, author and historian. He found a book he had written and asked permission to autograph it, which was immediately approved with many thanks from the clerk. Never seen a store like Powells before, or since. Had dinner at the Portland City Grill. Spectacular views of Mt. Hood from the 30th floor. Not sure which I enjoyed more, Powell's or the Grill. |

#3 Mr B, you must have visited Powell's Technical Book Store in the annex overlooking a park a couple blocks from the main store. That place was divine. It had a good run from 1990-2010 before they closed it and move (some of) the contents to the main store. I spent thousands there. I haven't been to the main store since 2019. I suspect the staff culture has been mostly destroyed since the mass firing in March of 2020 and ongoing Portland pandemic/political inanity. |

#2 No sympathy from me, but I do hope Powell's book store survives. |

#1 This is what they voted for, and now they’re getting it good and hard. |
