| #5 Unconfirmed reports have the Taliban 30 miles outside of Kabul while US embassy staff frantically shred documents and destroy computers. Forget Ghani. This is a monumental clusterfuck that could end up combining the worst aspects of Tehran in 1979 and Saigon in 1975. Make sure that helipad on top the embassy is ready and get the helicopters going right now. Meanwhile The Big Guy is headed to Camp David for a five-day summer vacation. Gotta wonder if Dr. Jill has even told him. |
