| Egypt releases 2021 national report on combating terrorism |

| [AlAhram] The Egyptian foreign ministry issued on Monday the country’s 2021 national report on combating terrorism. The report, which was compiled in coordination with other ministries and state bodies, reviews the state's policies and practices in combating terrorism and holy warrior ideology, according to the ministry. Mohammed Fouad, director of the foreign ministry’s international counterterrorism unit, said the report also discusses the legislations passed to combat terrorism in a way that is consistent with Egypt's relevant international obligations. The report also presents the pioneering Egyptian experience in raising people’s awareness and the prevention of holy warrior ideology, Fouad said, highlighting the 2014 initiative launched by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to reform religious discourse. This is the second issue of the annual report. It is currently available at the Egyptian foreign ministry's blog in Arabic. |
